THE LAND
Our 8-acre property situated in Crowborough, East Sussex, we offer stunning natural beauty, including portions of the Ashdown Forest woodlands. With a variety of tree species, the landscape showcases a diverse range of colors throughout the seasons.

This is complemented by expansive grasslands, featuring well-maintained green turf and long meadows with neutral tones, providing the perfect backdrop to highlight your pet as the focal point.
The Woodlands
The woodlands provide a year-round, diverse setting for photography. Spanning 2 acres, the woodland features natural pathways that create an ideal route for pets, ensuring the perfect shots can be captured.
The Studio
The studio is a charming cottage-style outbuilding, designed with homely touches to make all visitors feel welcome, regardless of species. Built by Billy upon his arrival in Crowborough in 2021, it provides a cosy and inviting space for every guest.
The Bluebells
Once a year, a particularly busy season begins for the photography community in East Sussex. At Pooch and Purr, our woodlands are transformed by an abundance of bluebells, creating a stunning sea of purple.
The Wildlife
Rest assured, our gardens are home to a rich variety of wildlife. From deer to owls, you may have the opportunity to encounter these remarkable creatures that reside here at different times of the day during your visit.
The Grassland
The grassland spans 4 acres, offering a beautiful mix of green and brown hues. It features well-maintained, closely trimmed grass, as well as longer meadow grass, perfect for pets who enjoy bounding through the fields.
The Fence
We have a 400sqm fenced in pen for our furry friends that want to have a good run and sniff around, without owners having to worry about a squirrel causing mayhem! This provides reassurance for those who may have concerns about recall, making the experience more enjoyable for both pets and owners.
FAQs
Why choose a pet photographer? Pets are truly part of the family. Pet photographers are becoming more and more popular to help put capture the pure beauty of our animals for the short time they have with us. Specialist photography experience and gear can take a true snippet of a pet in its happiest moments chasing a ball, or create a portrait which captures deep within the eyes of the pet.
What if my cat or dog cannot be off-lead when outside? Not a problem, we have 2 solutions for that. As a editing specialist i am able to remove most leads from photo without most people ever realizing. Also, we offer a 100sqm fenced pen for all pets to roam around freely.
What if my dog is reactive or nervous? The session will always start with a meet and greet of your choosing, if this means taking the dog for a small walk to get them used to the surroundings, we will do that. ​ Also, i am a dog owner myself, i have a very reactive dog that requires no eye contact from strangers at first until he is comfortable. Whatever your dogs personality, i will do my best to work with you to make he/she comfortable.
What if my pet cannot sit still for a portrait? In and ideal world, yes! However, we are photographing pets, so that is never the case. My camera equipment allows me to take a shot in split seconds, allowing me to capture a still shot very quickly. We have many treats and toys to get there attention during the shot.
Are you able to come to us? Yes, i do. I am more than happy to travel around. If you'd like a particular walk that your pet loves, i can accommodate. ​ However, depending on journey, there will be a difference in cost to cover fuel/time. I will price as fairly as possible.
What if it rains? Rain is just one of those things we manage on the day. If we see a stop in the rain, we will try to get outside for the action shots. Secondly, I am more than happy to shoot in the rain. Seeing a dog run around soaking wet does create a great photo! Lastly, for those who do not wish to venture in the rain, if it just wont stop, we can work out on the day whether you'd like to come back for the action shots, or spend more time getting the perfect portrait.
Can i be in the photo? Of course! it's special to capture your dogs best moments with there owner. ​ We offer family pet portraits during the outdoor experience as the indoor setup is solely for the animals!
